Symposium "Back to the Future"

Symposium "Back to the Future"
Location:  HG00.307
Date:  Wednesday, April 13, 2022 12:30 until 17:30

Hello everyone, it is time for Symci’s annual symposium!
This year we are back and better than ever! On the 13th of April, four wonderful speakers will give a lecture about their research connected to our theme ‘’Back to the Future’’.
We also have an amazing lunch and, to top it off, a lovely borrel organized by PRAC!

Dr. Sabine Gollner will give a lecture on deep sea mining and how this influences marine ecosystems. Dr. Michiel Pegtel will talk about exosomes and how cancer cells use this to communicate. Explaining novel methods that can even visualize exosome release from living cancer cells. Dr. Ian Cameron will give us a glimpse of the future in his lecture about the innovation of health technologies, in which he not only explains how new technologies get developed, but also touches on the requirements for these to be implemented. Our Back to the Future symposium wouldn’t be complete without some neon bioluminescence, and dr. Sander van der Krol will give a lecture about just that! He will discuss glowing plants and how they have captivated scientists’ interest, as well as discussing what it is good for.

You can sign up for the symposium with/without lunch by filling in this Google Form.
Please note: sign ups including lunch will close on the 10th of April!
