Update 08-09-2020 (17:15)

Dear members,

As most of you know by now, in March and April of 2020, BeeVee would have celebrated its 7th lustrum. However, due to the intelligent lockdown, this had to be postponed.  After much consideration, the board expressed their intent to organise the Lustrum in November of this year, if it could take place in "full glory".
Recently, the number of COVID-19 cases has seen a rise, both locally and nationally, and possible new regulations might be anounced. We also got word from the faculty that regular, non-educational activities could not be held in the Huygens building during the first quarter, possibly even the second quarter. This would mean that the desired "full glory" could not be achieved.
Therefore, the lustrum will not take place in November, but it will instead take place in April and May of 2021. Because it is unknown when all regulations in regards to COVID-19 will end, it is possible the Lustrum will have to incorporate the 1.5m distance in its activities. Because adapting the activities to this takes time and effort, committees need ample time to make the right preparations. This also made November no longer a feasible option.
We hope that via this message we bring all members up to date in regards to the Lustrum. We have faith that the Lustrum will be an amazing event, together with all FACs, LuCA2020 and all other members.

With love,

The 35th board of BeeVee

Update 04-07-2020 (12:00)

Dear all,

It has been a long time since the previous update about the lustrum and that is why we wanted to notify all of you. We do want to emphasise that it is impossible to have a definitive answer already, but the current idea is as follows.
The lustrum will take place in November if it can take place in all its glory. The board has taken many arguments about this decision into consideration and has taken advice from several association bodies.
This means that committees can start thinking of the activities they want to organise. However, the board will actively follow the developments and if there is more clarity on the situation in November, the decision will be revisited and reconsidered.
We hope you will understand that the decision was not easy and that many hours have gone into this. The decision that we now have is still dependent on rules and advises from the university and the government. Anything can still be decided after we have more clarity so that we can have the best lustrum possible. If you have any remaining questions, we would be more than happy to answer them!

With love,

The 35th board of BeeVee

Update 23-03-2020 (19:40)

Dear all,

As of today, new measures are being taken by the Dutch government, which we have to follow. These measures mean that all physical gatherings of people are as of today banned. Unfortunately, this means that until at least 01-06-2020 there will be no physical activities, this includes the lustrum. Therefore the lustrum, with all its activities, is cancelled and the board will now look at all the alternative options. The announcements we made earlier regarding the lustrum and ticket registration are no longer relevant.

We strongly advise everybody to follow the RIVM guidelines and the new measures of the Dutch government. Stay safe.

With love,

The 35th board of BeeVee

ANNOUNCEMENT 12-03-2020 (17:00)

Dear member,

As you might have heard, COVID-19 (the coronavirus) is spreading and more measures are being taken. Today, 12/03/2020, the Dutch government has announced that events with more than 100 people have to be cancelled until at least the 31st of March. The decisions of the government also affect our association and its activities. After all, BeeVee organises quite some activities on this large scale. With the information we have now, the board has taken the decision to follow the advice of the government and the Radboud University. This means we have to cancel activities that meet this scale, at least until the 31st of March. For updates about upcoming BeeVee activities, make sure to check the BeeVee website (beevee.nl).
Due to these measures, it has also been decided by the 35th board and LuCA2020 that the central ticket sale for the lustrum period will be postponed. The alternative will be announced soon. We are now assuming that the lustrum itself will not be cancelled, but for this we are mostly dependent on decisions made by the government and the Radboud University. You will be kept updated about this, for which you can check beevee.nl/lustrum/updates-covid-19.

If you have any questions about the effects of the coronavirus measures on BeeVee activities and the lustrum, feel free to ask a board member or to email to:  beevee@science.ru.nl.

With love,

The 35th board of BeeVee
